How to build a supported resale estimate

Identify the item, describe its condition and compare equivalent completed sales in a stated market. Every number needs evidence that another person can inspect.

What is available on this site today?

The current site offers category research, photo analysis for visible clues and likely candidates, a ballpark range, comparison worksheets and a net-proceeds calculator. The range is produced by an AI model from general knowledge; live completed-sale retrieval is not connected, so treat the figure as a starting point to verify rather than a valuation.

What evidence should you see before trusting a resale range?

A number by itself is not enough. That is why the ballpark arrives beside what is visible, what you supplied, what is still unverified, and where to check real completed sales.

  • Confirmed by youMarket, currency and the facts you chose to provide.
  • Visible in photosPhysical form, readable marks and observable condition clues.
  • Still unverifiedExact variant, repair history, provenance, grade and authenticity when evidence cannot prove them.

How are photos processed and kept private?

Selected photos stay in your browser until you choose Analyse. The analysis route validates and normalizes up to four images in memory, removes embedded metadata during that processing, then sends the normalized images and any optional clue you typed to OpenRouter and its selected model provider. The app does not save the originals, research notes or analysis result as an account record.

Do not upload IDs, addresses, account screens, passwords, private messages or unrelated people. We request a provider route with data collection disabled, but this Qwen model is not represented as a Zero Data Retention service; processor handling can vary. Read the photo-processing notice before sending an image.

Why keep four kinds of evidence separate?

Visible facts
Text that can actually be read, physical form and photographed damage.
Owner-provided facts
Measurements, purchase history and tests you report performing.
Research conclusions
An attributed model, edition or material supported by references; uncertainty remains explicit.
Market evidence
Completed-sale records with dates, currency, condition, contents and source links.

When is a resale range justified?

  1. The identity is specific enough to separate the item from lookalikes.
  2. The market, currency and valuation date are stated.
  3. Completed sales match the version, condition and contents closely enough; exclusions have reasons.
  4. The range describes the retained evidence, with sample limitations and material differences visible.

There is no universal minimum sample that makes an estimate reliable. Three weak matches do not become useful because there are three of them. If the version is unresolved or the only results are asking prices, keep researching. In that situation the tool withholds its ballpark rather than manufacturing one.

How do price, proceeds and replacement value differ?

A sale price is the amount in a completed transaction under its stated terms. Net proceeds subtract selling and delivery costs. An insurance replacement value serves another purpose and may use a different market. Keep buyer’s premiums, shipping and currency conversions visible rather than silently mixing them.

Our selling-route guide and net-proceeds calculator help compare the costs of a sale scenario. Entered figures are yours; the calculator does not fetch prices or provide tax advice.

How are examples and references presented?

Historical auction results are attached to a named specimen, sale date and source. Manufacturer databases and active listings can support identification but are not labelled as sold evidence. Invented examples are explicitly marked as hypothetical and explain a method rather than a real market price.
