How photo analysis and privacy work
Your photos stay on your device until you choose Analyse. That action sends only the selected photos to an external AI processor for a one-time item-evidence response.
What is sent when you choose Analyse?
Up to four selected item photographs, your optional category hint and any optional visible-text note are sent to this site’s analysis route. The route validates the files, corrects orientation, removes embedded image metadata during normalization and sends the normalized images to OpenRouter and its selected model provider.
Do not send IDs, addresses, private messages, account screens, passwords, documents or images of people who are unrelated to the item.
What does this site keep?
The application does not save the original photos, normalized images, worksheet notes or analysis result as an account record. Images are handled in memory for the request. If a request fails, the page keeps its local thumbnail so you can retry or remove it; the server does not create a public item page or search result from it.
What should you know about the external processor?
The current vision model is Qwen3.7 Flash through OpenRouter. We request a provider route with data collection disabled and do not enable OpenRouter input/output logging for this feature. That is not a promise of Zero Data Retention: the selected model is not represented here as a verified Zero Data Retention endpoint, and downstream-provider handling can vary.
Use photo analysis only if you are comfortable sending the selected item images under those conditions. You can still use every public guide, checklist and worksheet without sending any photo.
What can the analysis do?
It can extract visible text, form, condition clues and likely candidates, then ask for a better photo or fact when evidence is weak. It does not authenticate an item, grade it, establish material purity or provenance, verify function or create a formal appraisal. It also returns a ballpark range from general knowledge. That figure is a guess, not a current market price, which would require compatible completed-sale evidence.
How can you avoid sending a photo?
Do not press Analyse. You can remove a selected thumbnail, use the photography guide, record private notes on a category page or follow the completed-sale research guide instead.
